Sammy works closely with Operations Manager, Craig May, to create and control our warehouse workforce daily plan to ensure that we have the correct resources in place to fulfil customer schedules.
She also provides data for the Operations Team to drive and improve efficiency and service and liaises with other departmental planners to manage priorities effectively in the warehouse operation.
Sammy began her career in the food industry with St Ivel where she had responsibility for staff management, training, production planning and quality assurance. Later she switched her career to the leisure industry where she held a number of management posts.
After a short career break, Sammy joined us in 1999 as a temporary yogurt packer and quickly progressed to a full-time supervisory positon. She later transferred to a new challenge in the packing hall where, as Production Planner, she managed customer requirements, resources, staff training and quality assurance adherence.
Sammy also took up the position of Account Controller managing day-to-day interface with a number of key customers.
After leaving us briefly in 2006 to work part-time for a small family business, Sammy fortunately returned to Grocontinental in 2008 to assist the Finance Department. She was soon appointed as Stock Analyst before being promoted to the role of Stock & Audit Compliance Supervisor. She took up her current role of Warehouse Planning Co-ordinator in 2017.
Sammy is one of a number of our team who, having worked in a number of different areas of the business, has built up an excellent all-round and invaluable knowledge of our operation.
Out of work, Sammy’s main priority is spending time with her family and particularly her grandchildren.
She is an active Parish Councillor for her local community and enjoys walking her two dogs, whatever the weather. When she has some spare time, she spends it in her garden where she enjoys nurturing and growing her own plants.
