Key responsibilities

With his team of Customer Service Administrators, Mark has responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day relationships with our customers operating in a range of food industry sectors including cereals, drinks, bakery and confectionery. 

He also has specific responsibility for co-ordinating the high volume of work the company manages over the busy festive period.

Career background

Before joining Grocontinental, Mark worked for Balfour Beattie’s rail maintenance division based in Derby and Vic Hallam in Nottingham - a modular building company. He also worked on the construction of a local golf course for two years.

Mark is another of our team members who has enjoyed a varied career with us to accrue a very wide knowledge of the business which is invaluable in his role working closely with customers.

Since he joined us in 2000, Mark has held positions within operations and as Warehouse Manager before taking up his role in the Customer Service Team.

Away from the office

Once a very keen golfer with an impressive handicap of 3, Mark has now picked up his clubs again following a sabbatical to renovate an old local village hall into a house.

Mark says he keeps himself busy entertaining his two young children and he enjoys spending any spare time he has at air shows and a variety of other sporting/motorsport events.

His guilty secret is his love of karaoke. Marks says he tends to lean towards Roy Orbison numbers as his ‘go to’ tunes!
